Strategic media relations for an augmented reality innovator
Challenge: Zappar has been a pioneer in augmented reality and mixed reality (AR/XR) technology since 2011. With new platforms such as Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s Quest headsets making XR more mainstream than ever, it wanted to seize the moment with a more active strategy to raise its profile. But ROI was key with budgets under scrutiny.
Solution: Delphi devised a strategic media relations approach targeting top-tier outlets and specific audiences to tell important new about Zappar’s technology and its customer partnerships. We helped launch Zappar’s new WebXR development platform, as it allowed brands and agencies to build 3D immersive experiences for their websites. And told a powerful and emotional accessbility story around its Zapvision product. We announced Zappar’s work with Unilever, making product packaging accessible to blind and partially sighted consumers. And we promoted the OpenBrush app for 3D artists.
Outcome: Coverage for Zappar has been 100% trophy. It has included an outstanding piece on BBC World Business Report on Global Accessibility Awareness Day – only the second time the brand has been on the BBC and a piece designed to reach the creative industries with a dream headline for the brand – “I tried Zapbox, it’s like Vision Pro AR without the wild price tag”
