Sometimes you can spot patterns in client work, where the same theme pops up again and again like the proverbial London bus. That’s happened to us recently at Delphi, where we’ve been working on three campaigns all targeting CIOs.
Why now?
Obviously, the CIO has always been a major target of b2b tech campaigns. But things feel more urgent now. Without giving anything away from those client campaigns, here are four things we’ve observed during our recent work:
🤖 AI has put the CIO in the spotlight like never before. They’re being asked to deploy this generational technology and deliver its promises of increased efficiency and productivity. It’s a tall order but it’s casting all eyes on them within the C-suite.
🏰 Tech enables a wider remit. As tech becomes core to everything in the business, CIOs are getting new responsibilities and broader remits. Just see how Moderna and Coinbase have merged their IT leadership with HR and Ops.
🤝 New C-suite dynamics. Because of the two factors above, CEOs are relying on their CIOs more than ever. They’re becoming a trusted lieutenant with the boss’s ear. And they’re gaining more confidence as a result.
💁 CIOs need help – not with the “what” but with the “how”. They generally feel confident in their IT strategies. But they need help getting it through the organisation and making things happen. Brands see a role in that and want to forge links.
If you’re looking to reach CIOs, we might be able to help. Drop us a line to continue the conversation.
